We’re excited to announce that the 2025 Rio Grande Valley Extravaganza is officially scheduled for Thursday, April 17, 2025, in Mission, Texas! Doors will open at 6 PM, and we’re finalizing the details for our entertainment, which we’ll announce soon. Mark your calendars and start planning your involvement in this meaningful event!

Supporting Higher Education and Mental Health

By attending the Rio Grande Valley Extravaganza, you’re doing more than enjoying a fantastic evening—you’re making a direct impact on the lives of students from South and West Texas. 100% of the proceeds from this event go toward funding student scholarships through the Stars Scholarship Fund, helping to make higher education more accessible for those who need it most.

In addition, we are proud to introduce our Mental Health Initiative, launched by the Stars Scholarship Fund and the LaMantia Family. This groundbreaking program provides financial and logistical support to Master of Science in Social Work graduates aspiring to become Licensed Clinical Social Workers (LCSWs).

Announced by Texas Senator and Stars Board Chairperson Morgan LaMantia, the initiative addresses the growing need for culturally and linguistically competent mental health professionals. With a $1 million pledge from the LaMantia Family, the program removes barriers by covering supervision costs and providing essential training. Programs have already launched at the University of Texas Rio Grande Valley, and a second program in partnership with the University of Texas at El Paso is set to begin in Spring 2025.
